Children’s Stage Adventures, in collaboration with the East Grand 21st Century After School Program sponsored a week long production of The Fisherman and His Wife. This opportunity was made available through a grant from the Perloff Foundation. Over 45 students practiced for 4 days and 17 hours to put on a fabulous show for the school and community. Throughout the week students could also sign up for a variety of theatre workshops. This is the second year for CSA to visit East Grand, last year’s play was A Midsummer’s Night Dream. Both productions were musicals which have been beneficial since East Grand no longer offers Music or Band.
The East Grand After School program is provided to all K-12
enrolled students, Monday through Thursday from 2:30 to 4:30 throughout
the school year and four weeks during the summer months. This program
is mainly funded by a five year 21st Century Community Learning Centers
grant which is now in its fifth year. The purpose of this grant is
to establish or extend "Community Learning Centers: that provide
students, (primarily those who are not meeting learning results) with
academic support and enrichment opportunities designed to complement
their regular academic program.
Our program will begin September 19th.
Registration forms can be obtain from Gail Malone or here on our website.
